Acclaimed for its virtuosity, performance style and repertoire, the Pacifica Quartet has forged a path for itself that is fully convincing and internationally recognized. It has been honoured with the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2006 and a Grammy in 2009, among other prizes. The Pacifica Quartet has had residences at a number of prestigious institutions, including the Lincoln Centre and the Longy School of Music in Boston. As an advocate of contemporary music, every year the quartet commissions and premiers at least eight new works and presents a series dedicated to the new music. Pacifica tours extensively all over the world but this is its first visit to Madrid.
