If it was a Movement

The Museum has been running its If it was a Movement activity for the past four academic years. This is an activity that offers an intuitive and essentially sensorial approach to the Collection’s works. A dancer and an instrumentalist lead a journey around various rooms and works in the Museum, during which music and dance are the languages used to experience the form and the content inherent in each work. This is an approach to art through art itself, searching for ways of communicating other than the verbal.

Following on from the last academic year, when participants explored the most current works in Collection 3, the itinerary suggested for the academic year 2013-2014 once more takes place on the 4th floor of the Museum. It deals with significant works from Collection 2 by artists including Gottlieb, Esteban Vicente, Equipo 57, Saura and Miró. Both their formal and their semantic aspects are worked on, drawing out the poetic content of the abstraction and the expressiveness of gestural painting.
