Life in the Shadows. Spanish Cinema in a Labyrinth (1939–1953)
This film series, organised in conjunction with the exhibition Campo Cerrado. Spanish Art 1939–1953, focuses on post-war Spanish cinema, moving beyond the clichés that have buried it for a number of decades to present a dark yet fascinating filmic and historical labyrinth displaying conflicts, searches and objectives from the main narratives in a melancholy, wounded and confrontational period.

Avid Eyes
Masterworks from American Avant-garde Experimental Film (1920–1970)
Avid Eyes is an anthology of experimental American cinema curated by researcher Bruce Posner, who also oversaw the landmark film series Unseen Cinema, held in the Museo Reina Sofía in 2006. Avid Eyes features a selection of 37 recently remastered films that introduce the multiple pathways traced by American avant-garde cinema between 1920 and 1970.

Lav Diaz. The Evolution of a Filipino Film-maker
In collaboration with FILMADRID, a new space devoted to contemporary auteur cinema, the Museo Reina Sofía and Filmoteca Española (the Spanish Film Institute) welcome the retrospective Lav Diaz. The Evolution of a Filipino Film-maker, centred upon a contemporary director whose experiments with duration best represent the popular and tragic history of a community.

All About Love. Ann Hui, retrospectiva (1982-2009)
All About Love, a title borrowed from the film of the same name made by Ann Hui (Anshan, 1947), sums up the subject matter of this Chinese filmmaker's work, which usually revolves around social and personal relationships and has a great deal of affective and emotional content.
