Miguel Ángel Campano

A catalogue of Miguel Ángel Campano’s show in the Palacio de Velázquez, which spans the works made from 1991 to 1998 by a salient painter among the artists which, from the 1970s, assumed the mantle of abstraction and other avant-garde languages. In his essay, Santiago B. Olmo analyses the way in which Campano considered the history of painting, arriving at a “zero degree” of the canvas, while Oswaldo Muñoz delves deeper, from the narrative and the testimonial, into the artistic personality and personal biography of the painter.
